Handing the client the keys - a self-managed website for Ādažu Cīņu Centrs

Ādažu Cīņu Centrs is a combat-sports club in Ādaži - boxing, kickboxing, karate, MMA and functional training, for kids from age 4 through adults - and in 2026 they opened a new training hall. They needed a website to match. But the brief wasn't "just a website." It was: make it look serious, make it findable, and - the real requirement - make it something they run themselves.

The challenge
Most club websites rot. A developer builds something nice, and then every class-time change, new coach or price update means an email, a wait, and an invoice. For a club whose schedule changes every week, that's a slow leak. ĀCC wanted the opposite: a professional site they operate without ever calling a developer.
The approach
Content-first, bilingual (Latvian + English), mobile-first, and SEO-native from day one. Ten public pages, and every headline, price, coach bio, photo and FAQ editable - all driven from a single admin panel.
Spotlight: one panel runs the whole site
This is the heart of it.
- The owner logs in and edits text, prices, photos, coaches, the schedule - anything. Changes go live immediately.
- Bilingual by design. Every field has a Latvian and an English version. Leave the English blank and the page falls back to Latvian - no half-translated pages.
- Image uploads built in. Drag-and-drop for the gallery, coaches, hero and hall, stored securely and served fast.
- Safe to hand over. The admin sits behind authentication and role checks and is hidden from search engines, so non-technical staff can't break the site's structure or its SEO.
- Full audit trail. Every change is logged - the CMS already has 140+ recorded edits, so it's genuinely in daily use, not a demo.
We didn't hand over a website. We handed over the keys. It's a product the club operates, not a brochure they depend on us to update.
Spotlight: the schedule that updates in seconds

The weekly timetable is a sports club's operational core, and it changes constantly - so it got first-class treatment. A dedicated schedule admin: add, edit or remove a session with its day, time, discipline, group, coach and location; reorder them; hide drafts until they're ready. The public schedule page renders the whole week - all 30 sessions - in a clean, mobile-friendly grid, in both languages. The one thing a club must keep current, updated from a phone in seconds.
SEO under the hood, in plain language
Built in, not bolted on - and verified live:
- Indexable architecture: server-rendered pages, an XML sitemap, and a robots.txt that guides crawlers while keeping the admin private.
- Per-page metadata: unique titles, descriptions, and Open Graph / Twitter cards, so every page the club shares looks sharp.
- Structured data: the site describes itself to Google as a
SportsClubwith an address - the markup behind local and maps visibility. - Bilingual done right: canonical URLs plus
hreflang(lv / en / x-default), so Google serves the right language and never flags duplicate content. - Fast and stable: mobile-first layout, lazy-loaded images, and metric-matched fallback fonts that eliminate layout shift while the custom fonts load - a quiet, common SEO problem, solved.
The point of all of it: local families searching "bokss Ādažos" or "karate bērniem" actually find the club.
What launch delivered
Honestly - it just went live, so there are no traffic or ranking numbers yet. What's real today is this: a polished bilingual site the club is proud to share, a CMS the owner already uses daily, SEO that's complete at launch rather than promised later, and a schedule they keep current themselves. We'll revisit with search and traffic data in a couple of months.
This is the kind of thing I build - a custom tool a business owns and operates, not software they rent and wait on. See it live at adazucc.lv. If you want a site or an internal tool that you run yourself, let's talk.
