Ādažu Cīņu Centrs is a combat-sports club in Ādaži - boxing, kickboxing, karate, MMA and functional training, for kids from age four through adults. In 2026 they opened a new training hall and needed a site to match it. The brief wasn't really "build us a website": it was make it look serious, make it findable, and - the part that decided every technical choice - make it something the club runs without ever calling a developer.
Most club sites rot. Someone builds a nice one, and then every class-time change, new coach or price update means an email, a wait and an invoice. For a club whose timetable moves every week, that's a slow leak. So the site was built content-first: ten public pages where every headline, price, coach bio, photo, FAQ and session is edited from a single admin panel, in Latvian and English, and goes live immediately. Leave the English blank and the page falls back to Latvian, so there are no half-translated pages.
The weekly timetable got first-class treatment, because it is the one thing a club must keep current - all thirty sessions, each with its day, time, discipline, group, coach and location, editable from a phone in seconds. The admin sits behind authentication and role checks and is kept out of the search index, so non-technical staff can't break the site's structure or its SEO.
SEO was built in rather than bolted on, and it is all verifiable on the live site: server-rendered pages, an XML sitemap covering all ten URLs, a robots.txt that guides crawlers while keeping the admin private, unique per-page titles and descriptions, Open Graph and Twitter cards, canonical URLs with hreflang for lv, en and x-default, and SportsClub structured data with the club's address - the markup behind local and maps visibility. Measured on the finished site: 100/100 for Google Best Practices and SEO, 90 desktop PageSpeed, and effectively zero layout shift. The point of all of it is that a family searching "bokss Ādažos" or "karate bērniem" finds the club.
